I absolutely love [their] clothes! I love that they are 100% cotton. I love that they are durable through wash and play. I love the patterns and designs. The booties were my absolute favorite. With the way they are made there is little to no chance of the baby kicking them off. I would definitely buy their products in the future.

SleepBelt Review

What is a SleepBelt you ask?

A SleepBelt is a hands free skin-to-skin support system, SleepBelt allows baby to sleep soundly on mom or dad’s chest while giving parents their hands back to read, use a tablet, or their smart phone; it literally belts your sleeping baby to you!  With a new baby, breaks are important... Make the most of them.

How is it different from baby carriers?

The SleepBelt’s simple design facilitates the smooth transfer of a sleeping baby from your chest to its crib.  With no shoulder straps to wriggle out of, you simply stretch and pull the SleepBelt off of your baby.  Moms know… you don’t want to wake a sleeping baby!  Easy and quick to get on, it also ensures baby stays snuggled in their most comfortable position (knees tucked or froggy), has no buckles, knots or clips to dig into mom or dad, and can double as a belly binder in a pinch!

SleepBelt comes in three colors, aqua blue, hot pink and basic black. It also comes in three sizes, so it's sure to fit everyone. 

The folks over at SleepBelt were nice enough to send our founder (and new mama) one to try. 

Here's what she thought of it.

I like that it is very convenient. It allowed me to do so much after my child fell asleep on my chest. It gives the baby a sense of security from the constant snug hold. There is an easy storage bag and it’s quick and easy to put on. 

Here it is on my husband. 

What I didn't like is that use must be premeditated, because it is impossible to put on once your child is asleep. Also, with a weight limit of 15 lbs, for $60, I would be more interested if it used a material that could stand longer use. For the price, I would also expect the Velcro to be stronger. Lastly, if you don’t exactly line up the Velcro you’re sure to irritate your skin.

Overall, I loved the SleepBelt and would definately reccomend it to new Moms.

Freshly Picked Review

Freshly Picked recently sent over a pair of their 100% leather baby moccasins for us to review and I was pretty excited as I had watched them on Shark Tank. You can watch the whole episode here. 

I had high hopes, although I was a bit skeptic about how well they would work for our son. He seems to find a way to get out of everything we put on his feet and then either eats it till it is soggy or throws it when I am not looking. You would not believe how many mismatched socks we have because of this.

Also, the fact that his foot is shaped like a rectangle Lego doesn't help. I know you're probably laughing, but seriously, his foot is as tall as it is wide. Now that you have a funny image of my little man with Legos feet, you can probably understand why it's nearly impossible for us to find shoes that fit him. I honestly thought that there were no products out there that could be of use. 

When Freshly Picked offered to do a review I was more than happy to agree, hoping this was the solution. We picked out the Sand Suede and went up a size, since his toes were touching the line "3" on their size chart. On the plus side, as you can see on the chart, he has plenty of room to grow in to. Due to this however, I think it is why he is able to get them off sometimes. Although, it does take him longer to achieve compared to just socks, so I actually have a chance at catching him in the act.

As far as the quality of the shoes, I love the fabric that they are made of. They come in so many different textures and colors, your little one could have a pair for every outfit! They even have limited edition ones. The one thing my husband did not fall in love with was the elastic. He feels that it is a little weak. He says that the way it is attached, he feels like it is going to snap every time he puts them on. I do not have a problem with it, so maybe he is just too strong for his own good. Any He-Man fans? :)

These moccasins did exceed my expectations. They hold up well to constant tugging and drool, when he is able to get them off, and (according to my husband) look very snazzy. It’s been a couple of weeks now and I don’t have to worry about dealing with the soggy or lost sock dilemma anymore. We put these on and do not have to worry about bare feet. Yay!

The Manhattan Toy Company Review

The Manhattan Toy Company was Founded in 1979 by Francis Goldwyn (grandson of motion picture studio owner Sam Goldwyn), Manhattan Toy pioneered the use of non-traditional fabrics in toy design and introduced delightful new body styles in soft toys. Although Goldwyn is no longer involved in the ownership of Manhattan Toy, we remain true to his vision of marching to the beat of a different (toy) drum. Their mission is to inspire imaginative play so kids and moms smile. 

Our admin Sara had the pleasure of reviewing one of their toys and here is what she thought.

I tested the Skwish Natural for approximately 3 weeks. I was very impressed with the quality of the materials used. There were no holes, nicks, scratches, or any other imperfections in the wood. The cording seems to be very strong and durable as well. It held up to all of the chewing and banging done by not only my 8 month old, but also my 4 and 2 year olds, and still has no visible damage.

I chose the natural instead of the classic (shown below), because we try to limit possible toxins in our home. However, after looking more into their toys I learned that the paint used on the classic is a water based, non-toxic paint. So you need not worry about it chipping.

My son really seemed to enjoy chewing on the beads more than actually playing with it. But that's the life of a teething baby I suppose. My older daughters on the other hand, enjoyed playing with it and trying to get it to bend in different ways. Although my girls didn't play with it for extended amounts of time, I liked that it entertained all my babies. I usually try to buy one toy they all get something out of, rather than age specific ones. Since they grow so fast (sadly). Overall I would highly recommend this toy to other parents, especially those who (like us) try to stick with more traditional things instead of all the high tech stuff.
